We recommend periodic cleanings for all regenerator types. Periodic cleaning removes the debris and film that form on the surfaces in the core. All heat exchangers need to be cleaned periodically; depending on the type of regenerator, documented cleaning methods vary from acid washes to sand blasting. However, high-pressure water jet cleaning is recommended universally.
In our experience, we have found that professional pressure washing a unit successfully removes the debris as well as any film that has formed. The use of a high-pressure water jet not only sufficiently cleans the unit and minimizes corrosion but it is also environmentally friendly. PAL-CON, Ltd. offers an annual maintenance plan which includes a thorough inspection, pressure washing, and vacuuming of your regenerator. A thorough cleaning of your regenerator will maximize the unit’s life and improve its efficiency measurably. |
