Regenerators are built and installed for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. A WELDER will be required to perform a variety of skilled duties as assigned by the foreman or superintendent varying from moderately difficult to complex. He/she must be experienced with building, repairing, and modifying steel structures and pipelines. PAL-CON, Ltd. utilizes the expertise of TIG, MIG, and stick welders.

A WELDER must be able to combine or separate metal parts of varying sizes, shapes, and thicknesses according to drawings, verbal or written work orders, or as directed by an immediate supervisor. A WELDER must be able to determine the proper technique to utilize given the assigned task. A WELDER must assure a proper weld; his/her work must be free from defects and must be performed in such a manner to prevent distortion or burning of components. A WELDER must be able to skillfully weld, braze, solder, and cut metal. A WELDER will be required to demonstrate his/her welding ability; he/she must successfully pass PAL-CON, Ltd.’s exclusive welding test(s).

A WELDER may be required to fabricate catwalks, pipelines, ductwork; construct, repair, or refurbish heavy metal structures; repair cracks; and deconstruct heavy metal structures, catwalks, pipelines, and ductwork. PAL-CON, Ltd. is expanding its industrial coating services department. PAL-CON, Ltd. is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable INDUSTRIAL PAINTER to perform these services. The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER may be required to perform a variety of duties from uncomplicated to complex, working primarily on equipment, machinery, and structural components. The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER must know and be able to employ the appropriate methods, practices, tools, equipment, material, and safety procedures necessary to properly prepare and apply various industrial coatings.

The INDUSTRIAL PAINTER must possess the physical characteristics to perform the essential functions of this position. The CAD TECHNICIAN will be required to gain an understanding of the scope and requirements of a project. He/she may be required to use both manual drawing skills as well as computer-aided applications to design and produce drawings of fabricated metal components as well as revise existing drawings. The PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER will develop, prepare, and review plans, reports, and studies to identify and recommend engineering solutions. He/he may be required to inspect products, structures, facilities, and/or system operations before, during, and after installation. He/she will be required to participate in policy and procedure reviews. Job Description: PAL-CON, Ltd. repairs, services, refurbishes, manufactures, removes, and installs gas turbine regenerators for the natural gas and electric utility industries. Regenerators are built and installed for efficient heat transfer from one medium to another. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR will be required to perform duties from moderate to complex as assigned in order to ensure safe, timely, efficient, and accurate production of components per specifications. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR is responsible for the operation of the furnace; this includes, but is not limited to, the following: operating electronic valves and switches; adjusting and recording temperatures of the furnace and various parts per operating standards; troubleshoot; assist with repairs; and perform supervisory duties as assigned to complete the task(s) as assigned. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR will ensure quality workmanship and compliance with PAL-CON, Ltd.’s production and safety policies and procedures.

The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR may be required to assist in the daily tasks performed in the shop as well as operate the brazing furnace. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must be able to work independently and as a member of team. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must be mechanically inclined to assist with the furnace and/or equipment repairs as necessary. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must possess above average communication and interpersonal skills so to communicate activities concisely. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must be detail oriented; must make and retain detailed notes and accurate records; must supervise and respond appropriately to furnace activities; and must be able to implement processes to make necessary corrections/adjustments to the furnace’s operation. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must be familiar with the materials used and tasks performed at PAL-CON, Ltd.: cleaning, cutting, pressing, welding, fitting, and brazing various steel components. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must be familiar with safety rules and regulations as they apply to the work performed by PAL-CON, Ltd. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must be proactive and address all matters in a professional, respectful manner.

Although a college degree in a related field and manufacturing experience is preferred, a high school diploma or equivalent is required. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must have the ability, desire, and motivation to learn and progress in a challenging environment. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR will be required to work for extended periods of time in mild to extreme conditions (i.e. high temperatures). The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must be able to follow directions, both written and verbal; must be able to make judgment calls quickly and accurately based upon the information available. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must be computer literate; must be able to operate equipment (i.e. overhead crane) and hand/power tools; must have knowledge of electronic instruments; must be able to learn, retain, and follow procedures; must be able to bend, lift, sit, stand, kneel, squat, etc. for extended periods of time; must have excellent math skills, and must understand, speak, write, and read English. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must possess a valid state’s driver’s license and appropriate insurance. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR will report directly to the Brazing Furnace Thermo Superintendent, Production Manager, President, and Vice Presidents. The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR must follow the proper chain of command.

The BRAZING FURNACE OPERATOR’s rate of pay is negotiable based up his/her experience. The shop’s standard work hours are Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM until 5:30 PM; however, this position’s hours WILL VARY AND WILL INCLUDE OVERNIGHT SHIFTS depending on production requirements; scheduling flexibility is a must. This position is subject to a 90-day introductory period.
